Students will be able to:
Identify rhyming words
Read aloud and repeat rhyming words.
Orally generate rhymes in response to spoken words (e.g., "What rhymes with ‘hat’?")
Activity 1: Previous work review (5 minutes) Review rhyming words from the previous day with the “at” ending
Activity 2: (15 minutes)
Students take turns to read poems and discuss rhyming words. Poems to be read are:
My Snowman
Winter
Polar Bear
Students pick out rhyming words:
Activity 3: (10 minutes)
Students will dance to a few songs and identify rhyming words in these songs.

Students will be able to describe the natural habitat of an animal that lives in cold
places - A Polar Bear.
Activity 1:
Students will complete a KWL chart where they will write about:
What do I know about where polar bears live?
What do I want to know?
Activity 2:
Watch a video and have students talk about what they learned from the video?
Activity 3:
Students complete the “L” part of the KWL chart and make a list of all the things they would find
in the natural habitat of a Polar Bear
